ReSpace delivered a 5,200 sq ft office transformation for iGuzzini at Astolat Business Park in Guildford, creating a modern workspace with private offices, glazed partitions and a new kitchen and breakout area.

iGuzzini is an internationally recognised architectural lighting manufacturer known for innovative lighting solutions used in commercial buildings, public spaces, retail environments and cultural landmarks around the world.

When the company secured new office premises at Astolat Business Park in Guildford, they required a workspace that reflected their brand identity while remaining practical for day to day operations. ReSpace was appointed to deliver a full Cat B refurbishment across the 5,200 sq ft office.

Close collaboration throughout the design stage helped establish clarity from the outset. Working within a tightly controlled budget, our team introduced creative and practical design ideas that enabled the client to achieve a high quality, contemporary office environment without exceeding the agreed investment.

The result is a bright, functional workspace that reflects iGuzzini’s innovative culture while providing a comfortable and productive environment for their team.

The newly acquired premises required a complete internal transformation before it could support the client’s operational needs.

The space needed to accommodate private offices, collaborative working areas and a staff kitchen and dining space while maintaining a modern and professional aesthetic.

In addition to the layout changes, the project required adaptations to existing building services including lighting, ventilation and power distribution to suit the new workspace configuration.

This project formed part of our wider office refurbishment work in Surrey, helping businesses in the county transform newly acquired or existing office space into productive working environments.

Working closely with the client during the design stage, ReSpace developed a layout that balanced open collaborative areas with private workspaces.

Glazed partitions were introduced to create offices while maintaining visual openness across the workspace. A new kitchen and dining area was also incorporated to provide staff with a dedicated breakout environment separate from the main office floor.

The project was delivered as a Cat B office fit out, transforming the internal space from a basic shell into a fully operational workplace ready for immediate occupation.

Our team coordinated all elements of the project including construction, services adaptations and final finishes, ensuring the programme ran smoothly from start to completion.

The refurbishment included a comprehensive programme of works across the 5,200 sq ft office space.

Kitchen and breakout space

A new kitchen and dining area were installed to create a dedicated breakout space for staff to relax and collaborate.

Works included:

• Installation of new flooring
• Supply and installation of a new kitchen
• Bespoke drywall partition with glazed windows to separate the kitchen from the office area

Office layout and partitions

To support a variety of working styles, the office layout incorporated both open work areas and private offices.

Works included:

• Installation of full height glazed partitions
• Glazed doors to private offices
• Bespoke drywall partitioning throughout the workspace

Ceilings, lighting and services

The project required the removal of existing ceiling installations and careful adaptation of the building’s existing services to suit the new layout.

Works included:

• Ceiling strip out and installation
• Adaptation and extension of existing lighting installations
• Power and data supply installation
• Ventilation adaptations
• Modifications to the existing fire alarm system 

Finishes and detailing

To complete the workspace, a number of finishing elements were installed throughout the office.

These included:

• Supply and installation of blinds
• Decoration throughout
• Finishing works across all office areas
